The star, L’Étoile
The International DanceDay is celebrate, established by UNESCO, on the day of master Noverre’s birth, great choreographer and father of modern ballet.
☞ Do you know…
‣ Of the dancers – author favorite subject – Degas attempted to grasp their grace and lightness. Therefore, he experimented different techniques and here we immediately notice the bold use of perspective: from above. Not only that, even the dancer not in the center of scene and two thirds of painting taken from the empty stage, are unusual elements that manage to convey the immediacy of the scene as much as a photo shot.
‣ The main detail of the work, however, is in the dancer we see on one leg. Precisely this refers us to the complete movement as if it had suddenly been interrupted. The sense of instability is the other side of dynamism so we perceive both at the same time.
