Shadow of the evening
Masculine features that stretch out excessively upwards, keeping the proportions of the #body in spite of the head that remains small. This statuette, whose height does not reach 60 cm, is a #bronze votive work, belonging to Etruscan art and dating back to the third century BC.

‣ The name “Shadow of the evening” so poetic, could only be an #invention of a writer such as Gabriele D’Annunzio. The original popular recognition instead assimilated it to the craftsmanship coming from the Volterra area, which has always been the cradle of “bronze experts”
