Labour Day
May 1, an important day, this year even more.
·
#Labour Day has its roots in the United States since the Industrial Revolution. Until 1866 when, on this date, the “8-hour day” of work was approved as law which came into force from the following year.
·
In #Europe same decree was launch much later.
·
#Today this holiday is celebrated all over the world except in Canada and the United States where it falls every year on the first Monday in September.
This image, dates back to the end of 1932 and features steel #workers on one of the most impressive buildings in New York. The contrast between the altitude from the ground and the naturalness with which these men have lunch and enjoy the view is truly striking.
